675 Morning Glory Tea I painted this design on the Settlers Teapot from Painters Paradise. But a good friend painted it on a wood knitting needle case and it was stunning! Wouldn’t that make a wonderful gift, filled with knitting needles, a stitch counter and a gift certificate from a wool shop? |

Pink Trillium and Petite Violets - this is a new design that has

Sally McAloon. Both of these talented teachers have studied with me for

some time now. This is so exciting!!! We will have an audio-visual set up provided
by Painters’ Paradise and run by David Schein. Each person will
receive a battery operated light that clips onto their surface. Beam

RECIPES and PAINTING TIPS FROM FELLOW PAINTERS |
|
| MACARONI AND CHEESE |
|
| Sometimes, with all the fancy meals we have at this time
of year, some old fashioned comfort food really fits the bill. From Nancy Focardi, Marathon, NY "This is the easiest Macaroni and cheese recipe I have ever found!!!!! And sooooooo good!! " |
|
| 8 ounces of spring shape macaroni (or any other weird shape that
will hold cheesy stuff) 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can milk 1/2 cup of bread crumbs 1/2 stick of butter |
While the macaroni is cooking (according to directions) Grate the
cheese..... Drain macaroni, add soup and milk, mix well. Add 3/4 of the cheese and mix again. Pour all into a buttered 8 X 10 baking dish, sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top. Cover that with bread crumbs and dot with the butter. Put under broiler for about 10 minutes or until crumbs are golden brown. If you would rather it can bake in a 350 degree over for 30 minutes |
FROM JAN TRICKER'S MOM Jan's Mom Win is a very special lady and she often bakes banana bread for our seminars. I have to confess that they don't all get downstairs |
|
| Banana or Pumpkin Loaf |
|
| 1/2 cup sald oil 1/2 cup water 1 cup banana or pumpkin 1 1/2 cup sugar 1 2/3 cup flour 1 Tbs baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cloves 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1/2 tsp Nutmeg 1 cup raisins |
Mix wet ingredients together. Mix dry ingredients togther and add to
wet ingredients. Add raisins last and fold into mixture. Spray a loaf pan
with Pam and pour in the batter. Bake at 325 degrees F for approx 1 1/2
hours You can add chopped nuts. It is the raisins that keep the loaf moist. You can double the recipe to make two 8" loaves. Enjoy! |
PAINTING TIPS |
|
| From Old Mill Decorative Painters To clean your brush basin. Fill brush basin with very hot water. Drop in one or two denture tablets and let sit over night. |
From Jo Lutness at Painter's Paradise Prepare for students, or ask them to bring a sheet of labels with their names printed on each label. As students purchase supplies they can put a label on it to identify it as theirs, and they can also put themon their class notes and photos. Also, ask each student to put one of the labels on the front of the table. When teacher is standing behind the student to help, she can see their name. |
