LEAVES
Form the rose leaves with two pointed comma strokes flat on the inside edge. Use the
#3 and #4 rounds and pull out from the stem.
Form the calla lily leaves with a straight or curved pointed comma stroke pulled out from the stem with the #4 round.
Cool leaves
- Load in Arbor Green and tip Midnite Green.
- Pull in a Mv.Red Orange vein in the cool leaves with the liner.
- Shade the vein in the dark base of the leaf with a line of Cranberry Wine
Warm leaves
- Load in Lt. Avocado and tip Midnite Green.
- Pull in a Raspberry vein in the cool leaves with the liner.
- Shade the vein in the dark base of the leaf with a line of Cranberry Wine
ROSE
Form all petals with two pointed comma strokes, flat on inside edge, pulled in from the outer tip.
Petal 1: Load the #4 round in Cranberry Wine, tip Honey Brown.
Petal 2: Load the #4 round in Cranberry Wine, tip Raspberry.
Petal 3: Load the #4 round in Raspberry, tip Spice Pink.
Liner: Pull Cranberry Wine lines out from base of Petals 1, 2, 3
Petal 4: Load the #3 round in Raspberry, tip Yellow Ochre.
Petal 5: Load the #3 round in Spice Pink tip French Vanilla.
Liner: Extend Yellow Ochre and French Vanilla tips around to outline Petal 1
Pull Mv.Red Orange lines out from dark end of petals 4 and 5.
Stipple pollen in the opening with Lt.Avocado, Honey Brown, Yellow Ochre.
CALLA LILIES
Green Tips: Load the #3 round in Lt. Avocado tip Midnite Green.
- Form with a curved pointed comma stroke pulled out to the tip.
Opening petal: Load the #8 round in Brandy Wine tip Lv.Red Orange.
- Form with al straight pointed comma stroke pulled down from the outer tip.
- Pull lines up from base with Brandy Wine then Black Plum.
- Extend Lv.Red Orange to line green tip
Throat:Load the#4 round in Lv.Red Orange tip Brandy Wine.
- Form with a curved pointed comma stroke pulled down to the stem.
- Pull Black Plum lines down from the dark end of the stroke.
- Pull Lt. Avocado lines out from stem end of the stroke.
Turned edge: Load the #3 round in Mv.Red Orange tip Peaches ‘n’ Cream.
- Form with a curved pointed comma stroke pulled down from the outer tip.
- Extend the light end to a sharper point with the liner and Peaches ‘n’ Cream..
Pistil
Use the liner for the following:
- Fill in Honey Brown.
- Stipple Cranberry Wine shading and Yellow Ochre highlights
STEMS, TENDRILS
Use the liner for the following:
Leaf Stems
- Brush mix Lt. Avocado + Midnite Green.
- Highlight with a line of Lt. Avocado.
Tendrils
- Brush mix Honey Brown + Brandy Wine.
- Highlight with Honey Brown.

Load the #3 round in Lt Avocado tip Midnite Green.
- Form with two pointed comma strokes, flat on the inside edge, pulled out from the flower.
- Liner: Pull lines of Antique Gold lines in from the outer tip on the lower two sepals.
- Pull in a center Mv.Red Orange vein down from the outer tip withthe liner.
- Lighten the outer half of the vein in lower two sepals with Lv.Red Orange.
FLOWER PETALS
Form with two pointed comma strokes, flat on the inside edge, pulled into the opening
Rear petal: #6 round load in Mv.Grey, tip deeply in Antique White.
Two front petals: #6 round load Khaki Tan, tip deeply in Sand.
PETALS - LINER DETAIL
Rear Petal
- Pull long lines of Lt. Avocado out from opening.
- Then pull shorter lines of Midnite Green.
Two front petal
- Pull lines of Lv.Red Orange lines out from opening.
Petal veins
- Pull in with Mv.Red Orange.
Stamen
- Fill in Terra Cotta.
- Highlight with a dot of Golden Straw.
LEAVES
Cool leaf
- Load the #6 round in Arbor Green, tip deeply in Midnite Green.
- Form with two pointed comma strokes flat on the inside edge. Pull out from stem.
Warm leaves
- Load the #6 round in Lt. Avocado tip deeply in Midnite Green.
- Form with two pointed comma strokes flat on the inside edge. Pull out from stem.
Liner Detail
- Pull in center vein with Mv.Red Orange, shade base with Cranberry Wine.
- Highlight with an arc of fine lines. On warm leaves use Antique Gold, on cool leaves brush mix Arbor Green + Sand.
PEACH BLOSSOMS
Petals
- Form with straight pressure strokes pulled into the center with the #4 flat.
- For partial flowers load Cranberry Wine tip Mv.Red Orange.
- For full flowers load Brandy Wine tip Lv.Red Orange.
- Pull Cranberry Wine lines out from center on all petals.
Flower Center
Pounce with pointy swabs, wet into wet
- On partial flowers stipple in with Terra Cotta, highlight with Antique Gold.
- On full flowers stipple in with Terra Cotta, highlight with Golden Straw.
- Stipple Cranberry Wine on the dark edge with the liner.
STEMS AND TENDRILS, LINER
Trillium stem
- Pull in with a brush mix Midnite Green + Lt. Avocado
Peach blossom stem
- Pull in with abrush mix of Midnite Green + Arbor Green.
- Highlight with Arbor Green.
Tendril
- Pull in with Mv.Grey.
- Highlight with Antique White.

- Calypso Blue crosshatch lines, liner.
- Dot Hauser Light Green in the crosshatching with the stylus.
Lower petals on large flower
- Load the #6 round in dv.Violet tip Lavender. Form with a pointed pressure stroke pulled to the blue petals.
- Pull Paynes Grey lines out from base with the liner.
- Pull in a center vein with Hauser Light Green.
- Pull in the Calypso Blue halo outline with the liner.
Blue petals
- Load the #5 round in Midnite Blue tip Calypso Blue. Form with pointed pressure strokes pulled down to the calyx.
- Pull lines of Paynes Grey out from the base with the liner.
Green petals
- Load the #3 round in Hauser Dark Green tip Hauser Light Green. Form with pointed pressure strokes pulled down to the calyx.
- Pull lines of Paynes Grey out from the base with the liner.
Calyx
- Use the liner to fill in with a brush mix of mv.Blue + tch Lavender.
- Highlight with a stylus dot of Calypso Blue.
Curls
- Use the liner to pull in with Grape Juice.
- Highlight with Lavender.
LEAVES
Load the #6 round in Hauser Dark Green tip Hauser Medium Green.
- Form with pointed pressure strokes pulled back to stem.
- Pull in a center vein with Calypso Blue Vein.
SMALL FLOWERS
Load the #5 round in PaynesGrey tip mv.Blue.
- Form with a straight pressure stroke pulled from the stem to the opening.
- Pull Paynes Grey lines down from the opening with the liner.
- Use the stylus to dot three Lavender dots over petal, remaining dots with Grape Juice.

- Highlight with Hauser Light Green.

- Use a pointy swab to pounce French Vanilla towards the middle of the design

- Pull in with the liner loaded in Lt. Avocado.
- Use Hauser Dark Green to accent the curls.
TENDRILS
- Pull in with the liner loaded in a brush mix of Wisteria + Royal Purple.
- Accent with Pansy Lavender.

Form all petals with a bumpy fan stroke pulled down to the flower center.
Rear Side Petals

- Load the #7 round in Spice Pink tip Burgundy Wine
- Pull lines of Spice Pink out from base of petal with the liner.
Center
Stipple with #8 Series 200 as follows:
- Stipple Celery Green over all.
- Stipple a Pineapple highlight.
- Stipple dv.Green at the base.
Front Petals
- Load the #6 round in Spice Pink, tip Deep Burgundy. Pull stroke down to stem end
Liner Detail
- Pull clusters of Lamp Black lines out from the center on the rear petals. Also stipple dots on outer edge and base of the green center.
- Stipple Cool White dots on the outer half of the green center and into the petals.
- Pull Tangerine lines out from the base of the front petals.
BELL FLOWERS
Rear petal
- Load the #6 round in French Mauve tip Raspberry.
- Form the rear petal with a fan stroke pulled to the stem.
- Pull Pineapple lines out from the base with the liner.
Front petals
Form the petals with pointed comma with long point quick pressure.
Load the #3 round in Spice Pink.
- Tip Burgundy Wine for stroke on each side. Pull from corners of fan stroke down to the base.
- Tip in Deep Burgundy for third stroke on one side only.
Stamens
- Pull in the long curl with Lt Avocado.
- Pull in the short curl with Celery Green, highlight with Reindeer Moss Green.
CLOVER (Board 32)
Form with lines and small teardrop strokes with the liner.
- Do some with mv.Pink then some with Raspberry.
STEMS, CURLS, TENDRILS
Use the liner for the following:
- Pull in all stems and small curls with Lt. Avocado.
- Pull in the pink curls and tendrils with mv.Pink.
- Highlight with a brush mix of Pineapple + Spice Pink.

- Pointed comma strokes out from stem.
- Pull in the center vein with Burgundy Wine vein, liner
FLOWER PETALS, BUDS
Form petals with pressure strokes pulled into the center or stem with flattened #3 round or #4 philbert. Take more than one stroke off the brush for a variety of values. I found it easier to finish one group at a time, starting with the partial flowers in the rear and finishing with the full flowers in the foreground.
Load in Pink Chiffon and tip as follows:
- Partial Flowers: tip Soft Blue, Baby Blue or mv.Blue. ()
- Dark Flowers: tip mv.Blue or Sapphire.
- Buds: tip Baby Blue
FLOWER DETAIL
- On all partial and full flower petals, pull lines of Sand out from the flower center with the liner.
- Dot French Mauve in light flowers, Raspberry in darker flowers
- Divide petals with a White Wash line.
BUD SEPALS
Load #1 round in Reindeer Moss Green tip Lt. Avocado.
- Form with pointed comma strokes pulled out from stem.
STEMS, TENDRIL
Stems- Pull in with a brush mix Reindeer Moss Green + Lt. Avocado
Commas: #1 round, load Pink Chiffon tip French Mauve
BEES
Body
- Fill in the body and head with Golden Straw.
- Stipple Pineapple with the liner over all, but not the outer edges.
- Many fine Soft Black lines for stripes, then fill in feet and antennae.
Wings
- Fill in wings sheerly with White Wash.
- Do the linework with Reindeer Moss Green
BUTTERFLY
Wings
- Form wings with ruffled C strokes. Double load the #8 flat in French Vanilla and Camel.
- Detail wings with French Mauve, Raspberry.
- Highlight between the cells with lines of Pineapple.
Body, head and antennae
- Fill in with brush mix of Lt.Avocado + Reindeer Moss Green.
- Shade with Lt. Avocado.
- Highlight with Pineapple
